Dove Painting

22″ x 28″
Acrylic on Gallery Wrapped Canvas
Suzan Hughes-Kennedy

I have been preparing for this for weeks.  Drawing in my sermon notes book and researching.  Also watching the many dove we have in our yard even though they aren’t white.

I also found some great tutorials on painting white objects and animals and will share them below.  I didn’t realize I was painting on a Baptism Sunday but Pastor Loran Rule has been teaching on the Holy Spirit.  How timely!  I am so happy with it and I believe it is sold.  I’ll find out tomorrow.

Here are two artists whose advise helped me choose the colors to use in painting the dove which to my amazement include yellow, cadmium red, ultramarine, viridian, quinicranone magenta, and violet.  Plus, yes lots of white.
